Holy molten metal! Now that your eardrumss are finally returning to normal after last week’s Metallica blowout, it’s time to get ready for another megawatt sonic assault. The American Carnage Tour – featuring the dynamite double-bill of Slayer and Megadeth – is slated to invade the Glens Falls Civic Center on Friday, February 12 – a perfect Valentine’s Day date for you and your sweetie. Rounding out the show is Testament. Priced at $29.50, $39.50 and $49.50, tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10am on Saturday, November 28.

The Linda in Albany continues to heat up its schedule for those cold Nippertown winter months. Veteran comedian Chris Rush grabs the microphone by the throat for a night of no-holds-barred stand-up on Sunday, December 13. And ace guitarslinger David Malachowski leads his Woodstock All-Stars band into The Linda on Friday, January 22. And when he says “all-stars,” he ain’t kidding. The line-up includes drummer Gary Burke, bassist Graham Maby, organist Pete Levin, singer Machan Taylor, pianist Danny Weiss, harmonicat Dennis Gruenling and saxman Erik Lawrence.

Shinedown headlines an all-ages concert at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany on Friday, January 22. Rounding out the bill are Puddle of Mudd and Skillet. Priced at $30, tix go on sale at 10am on Saturday (November 21).

New Year’s Eve comedy is on tap as the Palace Theatre in Albany hosts “First Night of Funny – The Four Sides of 40,” featuring a quartet of comedians looking at 40 from varying perspectives – Lenny Marcus (single), Patty Rosborough (divorced), Al Ducharme (newlywed) and Eric McMahon (very married). Showtime is 8pm on Thursday, December 31, and tix are $25.
