MUSIC: Shawn Colvin & Steve Earle: Songs & Stories, Together Onstage @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Two A-list, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriters team up for an collaborative evening of sparkling songs, stories and picking. 8pm. $29, $36 & $44.

MUSIC: Turkuaz @ Putnam Den, Saratoga Springs. The nine-piece band of funkateers celebrates the release of their upcoming album, Future 86, due next week. But wait! It’s a double CD release party as Alan Evans’ Playonbrother (formerly known as the Alan Evans Trio) also share the stage, celebrating the release of their new live album. 9:30pm. $12; $17 if under 21.

MUSIC: Mikaela Davis @ Red Square, Albany. Rochester indie singer-songwriter-harpist brings her usually-found-in-classical-music-situations harp to Red Square in support of her new EP Fortune Teller. THEATER: “Gypsy: A Musical Fable” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany.”Everything’s Coming Up Roses…” Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill directs the classic musical based on the memoirs of famed stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, featuring a cast of 23 from Broadway star Mary Callanan to local TV personality Benita Zahn. 7:30pm. $20-$65. DANCE: Rhythm of the Dance @ Proctors, Schenectady. Thirty dancers, a traditional Irish band and the Young Irish Tenors come together to celebrate both the rich history of Ireland and the art of Irish dance, from the disciplined tradition of the Celtic Step to the sensual moves of the Sean Nos. 8pm. $20-$50.

ARTIST TALK: “One Work: One Hour” @ Skidmore College’s Tang Museum, Saratoga Springs. A focused dialogue with visiting artist Anya Kielar, whose artwork is currently on view in the Tang exhibition “One Work.” 5:30pm.

MUSIC/TALK: “STEAM: A Space Odyssey” @ MCLA’s Feigenbaum Center for Science and Innovation, North Adams. Catherine “Cady” Coleman and Daniel C. Burbank aren’t just a flute-and-guitar duo. They’re also NASA astronauts. And they’ll combine a musical performance with a presentation on living and working in space. 5:30pm. FREE.
