MUSIC: Cuddle Magic @ Universal Preservation Hall, Saratoga Springs. The evening of select works from the up-and-coming Brooklyn-based band will feature works from their recent collaboration is with avant garde, classically trained toy pianist Phyllis Chen. Also featuring acclaimed author Rick Moody for a special program of music intertwined with collaborative readings and performance with the musicians. 7pm. $25.

FASHION/FUNDRAISER: Haute Cature @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The annual fashion show and auction features unique fashions by more than 20 local artists and designers. Steve Hartman from CBS News’ “On the Road” will be master of ceremonies, for the benefit for Animalkind, Hudson’s cat rescue center. 6pm. $30 & $60.

EVENT: Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase @ Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. An annual event for the community of acoustic stringed-instrument builders, players, collectors and aficionados, presenting a gathering of the finest handmade acoustic guitars and stringed musical instruments from around the world. 11am-6pm. $20.

MUSIC: Marty Wendell @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The veteran Local 518 rockabilly-country-gospel singer-songwriter who toured with Johnny Cash and recorded at Sun Studios celebrates his 50-year musical career with a retrospective solo acoustic concert. 7pm. $17.

MUSIC: Arch Enemy @ Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. Swedish death metal. With Kreator, Huntress and Starkill. 6:30pm. $23.

FILM: “20,000 Days on Earth” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Drama and reality combine in Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard’s 2014 film covering a fictitious 24 hours in the life of musician and cultural icon Nick Cave, with startlingly frank insights and an intimate portrayal of the artistic process. 5pm.

MUSIC: Sonny & Perley @ the Wm K. Sanford Town Library, Loudonville. The jazz duo performs their “Brazilian Romance” program. 2pm.

THEATER: “Poe” @ the Unicorn Theatre, Stockbridge. Last chance! Eric Hill directs and David Adkins stars in the world premiere of a new play that explores Edgar Allan Poe’s final days. 2pm. $35.

MUSIC: Pola Baytelman @ Skidmore College’s Zankel Music Center, Saratoga Springs. The distinguished artist-in-residence in the Skidmore College Music Department celebrates the music of Jewish composers with a piano recital featuring selections by Mendelssohn, Schoenberg, Schoenfield, Milhaud, and Schulhoff. 3pm. THEATER: “Company” @ Saratoga Arts, Saratoga Springs. The Local Actors Guild of Saratoga presents the Stephen Sondheim musical about five married couples and their single friend Robert, who seems to have it all. 2pm. $20.

THEATER: “The Mousetrap” @ the Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Averill Park. The Circle Theatre Players present Agatha Christie’s classic murder mystery, directed by Paul Trela. 2:30pm. $16; $10 under age 18.
