LIVE: Spafford @ the Palace Theatre, 1/28/17

The Phoenix-based quintet Spafford made their Greater Nippertown debut recently, opening the show for Umphrey’s McGee at Albany’s Palace Theatre.

Self-described as “electro funk therapy,” the band certainly lived up to the billing. Unlike the reaction to so many opening acts, much of almost sold-out crowd was on its feet and dancing throughout their set.

And to add to the fun, Umphrey’s McGee keyboardist Joel Cummins sat in with the Spafford’s keyboard player Red Johnson, much to his delight.
