Remembering “Metroland”

Yes, we couldn’t let the day pass without acknowledging the legacy of Metroland, Greater Nippertown’s alt-weekly newspaper. Today marks the third anniversary of Metroland’s final issue. On Thursday, October 29, 2015, stacks of the free magazine were dropped off at newsstands, convenient stores, nightspots and restaurants all around town.

And then it was gone…

Metroland began as a monthly disco magazine by Peter Iselin back in 1978, and over the years, it morphed into something else, ending as alt-news weekly with Stephen Leon at the helm.

Now three years since its demise, we miss Metroland. Even the “Fox of the Month”…
