The Figgs to Sweeten Saratoga at Caffe Lena September 27

Saratoga rock band The Figgs will be sweetening the scene at Saratoga Springs’ Caffe Lena on Friday, September 27th.

The local band originally formed in Saratoga Springs in 1987, when it was originally known as The Sonic Undertones. The band has produced 13 albums and multiple singles and EPs.

Band members Mike Gent (lead guitar), Pete Donnelly (bass), and Pete Hayes (drums) will return to Saratoga Springs from their homes in major cities around the country. The men all attended high school together locally, so it is a homecoming of sorts.

The tried and true band The Figgs, which has a worldwide fan base, a hearty discography, and has toured and recorded several times with the legendary Graham Parker, celebrated the year 2013 by turning 25. This occasion was made even more special by the release of “1,000 People Grinning: The Figgs Anthology”. It’s one of the band’s greatest achievements to date.

Since the rock outfit’s inception in 1987, the band has spent the better part of the past 25 years touring, recording and working on a variety of acclaimed side projects.

The show starts at 8 pm, but fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Those interested in light snacks and desserts should plan to arrive by 7:30.
