Concert Announcements for the week of June 14th

Jocelyn and Chris

As we enter our fourth month of the pandemic, the stress is starting to manifest itself in both creativity and confusion.  Perhaps most promisingly, Troy Music Hall and WEXT have teamed up to bring an honest-to-goodness live music show (Jocelyn and Chris) at the Jericho drive-in.  Kudos to them for finding a creative way to do this completely in line with state guidelines for the Covid crisis.  (After the show, stick around for the very fun Beatles-themed movie Yesterday as well).  Please support this, and look for additional concerts to come.

Over in Scotia, Freedom Park has moved its yearly concert series to a live-stream format and branded it the “Quarantune Series – the series that almost wasn’t”.  Good stuff, please tune in.  In contrast, the Rensselaer County summer music series are being advertised as “full steam ahead”, which is in line with the stance the county leadership has been taking with regard to Covid.  See below for schedules, but I’d suggest double-checking before you go, as the scheduled Brian Kane show up in Schaghticoke ended up being canceled Thursday.

Up the Northway, I’m starting to wonder about Live Nation’s handling of the SPAC season.  A lot of shows “postponed”, but without a new date for quite a while.  If it’s postponed, and you don’t have a date, isn’t that a cancellation/rebook?  And Tedeschi Trucks has had their rescheduled date on their website for weeks…it’s probably okay for Live Nation to acknowledge it.

Finally, Pauly’s Hotel’s website is down.  I really hope that’s also just a Covid blip and not something more ominous.

Please support your local musicians and venues in whatever way you can…
