Troy Turkey Trot invites costume contest participants in virtual format

Although the Troy Turkey Trot, the nation’s 12th oldest road race in year 73 of existence, is switching over to a virtual format for 2020, event organizers plan to maintain the Trot’s focus on fun, family and fitness.

Registered runners are invited to enter the popular costume contest, which features two categories: Best Thanksgiving Day and Most Unique costume.  Participants can enter the contest, which runs through Saturday, Nov. 28 at 11 p.m., here.

“Our costume contest is an important part of the Troy Turkey Trot and we will do everything we can to keep the Trot’s traditions going during these challenging times,” Troy Turkey Trot Event Director George Regan said. “We will upload all the creative costume entries we receive to our Facebook page. Entries with the most likes will win great prizes, including our commemorative hoodie. We will notify winners via email.”

Entrants are invited to share photos of their costumes on social media and tag the event using the hashtags #TTT2020 and #TroyTurkeyTrot.

The Troy Turkey Trot, presented by Pioneer Bank, is sponsored by Wm. J. Fagan & Sons, Capital Region Honda Dealers, Choice Physical Therapy, Lamar, and Bryce Real Estate.
