Top Tips for Live Music (for the week beginning April 26th)

Live Nation has moved the Dave Matthews SPAC concerts from July to mid September.  They are communicating confidently, as if this is definitely happening, but have yet to say how the logistics of that would work if it does.  I would monitor that situation for more clarity.  At the same time, the Goo Goo Dolls postponed their August show, with no new date yet.

On the upside of things, we have our first new booking from Upstate Concert Hall in a long time, so that is welcome news.  The Melissa Etheridge show at the Egg has finally landed on a new date as well.  And even Proctors has booked a new show, albeit not until next spring.  It’s nice to see something other than cancellations and postponements happening out there.

Best betIt’s an easy one this week.  Tune into the Eddies on Sunday to see the best of the Capital Region music scene.  Think of it like the Grammys except, you know, this is actually worth watching.  Garland Nelson is the emcee for the night and will perform, with additional performances by Marty Wendell, Jocelyn and Chris, and Promise the Unbreakable.  Andy Gregory (WEXT) and Jeff Morad (WEQX) host.  Check it out on YouTube, Facebook, and other channels.
