A Place For Jazz Concert Series Returns

The long-running A Place For Jazz Concert Series is returning after a more than two-year absence with a special springtime concert and a partnership with SUNY Schenectady on April 29th at 7:30 PM. with the appearance of singer, songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway with her accompanist Ted Firth. The singer, pianist, composer, and producer is known for her Tony-nominated performance in “Swing!” and for writing and singing the theme song to the TV series “The Nanny.”

Performances will now be held at the Cecil B Taylor Auditorium on the SUNY Schenectady campus.

The series will resume its normal Fall Concert series with 5 concerts as follows:

  • 9/9 – Trombonist Steve Davis with his Sextet
  • 9/23 – Geoff Keezer Trio featuring vocalist Gillian Margot
  • 10/7 – Vibraphonist Joel Ross
  • 10/21 – Saxophonist Bobby Watson
  • 11/4 – Peg Delaney Big Band (featuring my local greats)
