David Alan Miller to Lead Albany Symphony in Stunning Presentation of “Beethoven Back to the Future”

ALBANY — Albany Symphony‘s annual concert for kids and families will be returning this season as the series’ return was announced. “Propelled over 200 years into the future by a time machine, Beethoven bursts into the 21st century just before the reveal of his biggest symphony ever!” the plot for this year’s Sunday Symphony claims, set to occur on March 20th at The Palace Theatre. Doors open at 2:00 pm for a 3:00 pm start time. Concert-goers of all ages will help the great Ludwig van Beethoven (as portrayed by Music Director David Alan Miller) prepare for the “premiere” of his latest symphony through an exploration of his fun and familiar music.

The Albany Symphony celebrates its living musical heritage through its adventurous programming, commissioning and recording of new work, and broad community engagement beyond the concert hall. Recognized as one of the American’s most innovative and creative orchestras, the two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning Albany Symphony is renowned for virtuosic performances featuring classic orchestral favorites, lesser-heard masterworks, and a diverse array of new music from leading and emerging voices of today.

Led by Music Director David Alan Miller, now in his 30th year, the Symphony presents a core classical series throughout the region. A two-time Grammy Award winning conductor, Miller has established a reputation as one of the leading American conductors of his generation. As music director of the Albany Symphony since 1992, Miller has proven himself a creative and compelling orchestra builder.
