Ann Hampton Callaway Springs into A Place for Jazz

A Place for Jazz (APFJ) and SUNY Schenectady School of Music presents a special spring concert featuring the legendary vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway with pianist Ted Rosenthal, on April 29th at 7:30 PM at Carl B. Taylor Auditorium at SUNY Schenectady.

Ann Hampton Callaway is one of America’s most gifted and prolific artists. A leading champion of the great American Songbook, she’s made her mark as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host, and producer. She was voted by Broadwayworld.com as “Performer of the Year” She is best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical “Swing!” and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series “The Nanny.”

Ann will be accompanied by Ted Rosenthal, one of the leading jazz pianists/composers of his generation.

“We are very pleased to resume the jazz concerts this year,” said Albert Brooks, APFJ president. “APFJ’s last two seasons were canceled due to Covid concerns. Prior to that, APFJ had presented a jazz concert series every fall for 33 consecutive years – a remarkable feat for a small, totally volunteer-led, and operated not-for-profit organization.  We will be announcing our 2022 fall concert season soon.”
