Findlay Cockrell to play lunchtime concert at Troy Music Hall

TROY – As part of their Music@Noon series, Troy Savings Bank Music Hall is welcoming people to attend a free concert featuring American pianist, Findlay Cockrell. Cockrell, one of the creators of Music@Noon (which began in 1988), will be performing on Tuesday, May 10th. Doors to the event open at 11:00 am. Having worked with a variety of outstanding musicians, including Joshua Bell, Donald Weilerstein, Emanuel Borok, and Kim Kashkashian, Findlay is sure to deliver an entertaining performance.

Findlay has received wide acclaim for his powerful performances across a wide repertoire ranging from the Baroque to the modern day. Brilliant technique, insightful interpretations and great expression characterize his concerts. Cockrell attended Harvard College (class of ’57) and the Juilliard School (earning both BS & MS degrees, and was a student of Edward Steuermann). He won the Alfred Hertz Memorial Scholarship Prize, which award was used for the first semester of study at the Juilliard School. While at Harvard, he also won the Harvard Concerto Competition.
