The Attic Classic:  Prior to Albany band Mambo-X hooking up with producer Mitch Easter to record their final album, there were earlier singles and EP’s featuring their popular, danceable jangle-rock sound meshed with singer Erin O’Hara’s Celtic tinged vocals.

In 1987 the band headed to Cotton Hill Studios to record the EP ‘Machines of Eden.’ The band had been touring clubs and small halls, sometimes as the opener for up-&-coming acts, other times as the headliner. The EP captured the band’s distinct sound, reinforcing their status as one of the top rock bands in the area.

From that EP is the Attic Classic “building bridges and bombing them.” If you can’t find the original recordings, Mambo-X can be found on Bandcamp. You can catch up on what Erin’s been up to lately by visiting her website, and band guitarist Seth Kaufman has a new novel out, The Seductive Lady Vanessa of Manhattanshirefind it here.

Here’s a video for the song, which was produced by a friend of the band, Dave Gresalfi.
