The Cock ‘n Bull Serves Up Jacob Jolliff and Grant Gordy Thursday, September 8th

The Cock ‘n Bull has a devastating twofer lined up for this Thursday (September 8). Guitarist Grant Gordy will join famed mandolinist Jacob Jolliff on the beautiful Galway stage, in what is truly one of the hottest acoustic duos anywhere.

Grant Gordy and Jacob Jolliff have had a long musical partnership built around their shared love of bluegrass, jazz, and other styles. Their first duo album, Our Delight, was released earlier this year. While that record is primarily jazz, their live show features vocal and instrumental bluegrass as well, making for a varied and fulfilling evening.

Jacob Jolliff

Jacob Jolliff, the 2012 winner of the National Mandolin Championship, is perhaps best known for his five-year stint in the Yonder Mountain String Band. Based in New York City, he has shared the stage with numerous musical legends, from Sam Bush to John Popper to Widespread Panic. Since 2021, he often tours with his own Jacob Jolliff Band.

Grant Gordy

Brooklyn-based Grant Gordy is a major voice on the American “acoustic music” scene, and one of the most highly regarded young instrumentalists of his generation. Having held the guitar chair in the legendary David Grisman Quintet for six years, he’s also worked alongside such musical luminaries as Edgar Meyer and Tony Trischka. He has performed all over North America and Europe, from Carnegie Hall to the Montreal Jazz Festival, and from Lincoln Center to Bonnaroo.

Come see these two impressive talents at the beautiful Cock ‘n Bull barn. Seating is from 5:30 – 6:30 pm, and the cover is only $10. Contact the Cock ‘n Bull directly, or check out their Facebook page for more information.
