ALBANY – There’s just Somethin’ Bout a packed venue and country music on a Thursday night…

American country music singer and songwriter Kip Moore made an appearance at Empire Live last night for his “Fire on Wheels” tour.

The night kicked off with some cold beverages and Nashville’s country and folk-rock group, Boy Named Banjo. The band started jamming together over 10 years ago and got their name from a man who walked by and yelled “Play that banjo boy!” – which happens to answer the question of the night “Is his name actually Banjo?”

Boy Named Banjo set the tempo for the rest of the night. The band interacted with the crowd in a way that prepared the concert-goers for Kip Moore’s killer performance.

Moore didn’t only bring a bottle of Jack Danials, he also brought his number ones to his Empire Live setlist, which included “Hey Pretty Girl,” “Beer Money” and “More Girls Like You”.

It’s always amazing to see how professionals can control the emotion and tone of the room just by playing the first couple of notes of their favorite song.

The band’s performance left country music fans wanting more, which resulted in a three-song encore. Moore made sure to address his appreciation to those who came to party on a work night.
