SARATOGA SPRINGS – It was Oct. 29 in downtown Saratoga Springs. Everyone was out looking their Halloween best — most of them were gathering at Putnam Place for yet another sold-out show. Daniel Donato and his band kicked things off and the Kitchen Dwellers, as usual, absolutely crushed it. Halloween magic was in the air and it started with a little Cosmic Country.

I had heard quite a bit of buzz about Nashville’s Daniel Donato leading up to last night’s show and now that I have seen him and his band play, I understand why. I have never quite heard anything like it before. Both of these bands put a unique spin on their genre, but Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country is something you just have to hear. Luckily for you, he has a YouTube channel where you can check them out any time you like. (They specifically asked me to put this link in last night.)

All the way from Montana, the Kitchen Dwellers graced us with their special twist on bluegrass. The first thing you have to understand about the Kitchen Dwellers is that this isn’t your grandpa’s bluegrass. The Kitchen Dwellers play bluegrass that also somehow rocks. These two genre-bending bands are the perfect combination for a really good night out and an absolute delight for anyone who loves live music. If you missed this one, check out their upcoming tour dates here.
