Albany Berkshire Ballet Brings Its Annual “The Nutcracker” to the Egg, Dec. 10-11

ALBANY – On Dec. 10 – 11, the Albany Berkshire Ballet will bring its production of “The Nutcracker” to the Egg. The shows at the Egg are part of its regional tour, which the company has been doing for 48 years now.

A beloved holiday tradition, ABB’s “The Nutcracker” features magnificent principal dancers from around the country accompanied by 150-200 local area students in its youth casts. It tells the story of a young girl, Clara, and the magical dream she has one Christmas Eve. Set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless music, the story of “The Nutcracker” follows the adventures of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they conquer the Mouse King and embark on a magical journey to the Land of Sweets.

The dates at the Egg follow performances in Burlington (Nov. 26) and Pittsfield (Dec 3-4). If you miss the Albany dates, there is one more chance to catch it in Springfield (Dec. 17).

Choreographed by Madeline Cantarella Culpo, featuring sets by Carl Sprague and costumes by Rita Watson and Victile Donahue, The Nutcracker never fails to delight audiences, young and old.
