Mandy Patinkin to Perform at Proctors Theatre, Feb. 2

SCHENECTADY – Coming to Proctors this Thursday, Feb. 2nd, is the enigmatic actor, performer, and singer, Mandy Patinkin! Accompanying him on piano for the evening is Adam Ben-David. Audiences are welcomed to come to the theater for a night of compelling Broadway tunes and more.

Before he was an Emmy-winning TV star, Mandy Patinkin was already a Tony-winning Broadway legend. Mandy Patinkin in Concert: BEING ALIVE, presents the acclaimed actor / singer / storyteller in his most electrifying role: concert performer. “Mandy Patinkin is in the business of showstopping,” raves The New Yorker, and that’s exactly what he does in this powerful, passionate evening of song. BEING ALIVE is a collection of many of Mandy’s favorite Broadway and classic American tunes. From Irving Berlin to Stephen Sondheim, from Cole Porter to Harry Chapin, Mandy Patinkin takes you on a dazzling musical journey you’ll never forget.

Mandy began his concert career in 1989.  Since then he has toured (and continues to) his various solo concerts (Dress Concert, Mamaloshen, Celebrating Sondheim,Diaries, and Being Alive) across North America, in London’s West End, through Australia and New Zealand, as well as on Broadway and off-Broadway.

In addition to his solo concerts, Mandy has created collaborations with artists including opera super-star Nathan Gunn in An Evening with Mandy Patinkin & Nathan Gunn; with his dear friend Patti LuPone in An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin; Bridges, a concert with musicians from various countries in the Middle East; and most recently, The Last Two People on Earth: An Apocalyptic Vaudeville, with Taylor Mac, and direction and choreography by Susan Stroman.
