ACCR to Present “An Atlas” A Photo Exhibit by Tara Fracalossi

The Arts Center of the Capital Region is presenting An Atlas, a solo photography exhibition by Tara Fracalossi. The show will run from March 16th to April 22nd, with an opening reception on March 31st during Troy Night Out. Fracalossi’s works explore images, archives, and language. Her ongoing project, Postcards to Myself, was born in the early days of pandemic isolation when she began to document her daily life with her phone. This exhibition includes both original postcards and a new series of enlargements while examining the photographic process and language.

Fracalossi’s work has been featured in many galleries and museums around the globe, such as New York City, Philadelphia, Houston, London, Vienna, Slovakia, and Belgium. Additionally, she has been awarded a Fulbright-Hays grant from the US Department of State, several grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts, and the Mona Ruth Brickman Memorial Artist of the Year Award from Albany Center Gallery.

Tara Fracalossi was born in Jersey City and holds a BA from the University of Vermont and an MFA from the University at Albany, SUNY. She has curated and organized exhibitions for over twenty-five years and is the founding director of the Teaching Gallery at Hudson Valley Community College. She lives and works in Kinderhook, New York, with her husband, artist Thomas Lail, their son, and dog.
