The Egg Kicks Off “Jazz Appreciation Month” a Few Days Early

The Egg will kick off April’s “Jazz Appreciation Month” with two concerts: the Manhattan Transfer on Wednesday, March 29, and Brian Culbertson on Thursday, March 30. Both shows will start at 7:30 PM.

Since their debut in 1972, The Manhattan Transfer have set the standard as one of the world’s leading vocal ensembles. With ten Grammy Awards and millions of records sold worldwide, the legendary quartet – Janis Siegel, Alan Paul, Cheryl Bentyne, and Trist Curless – will celebrate their 50th anniversary on their farewell tour with a special guest appearance by founding member Laurel Massé. Massé toured and recorded with the group for seven years before launching her solo career as a jazz, folk, cabaret, and classical music vocalist. Fans have a unique opportunity to witness the legendary ensemble on their final tour, including a reunion of their founding members.

Over the course of creating a 25-album collection and producing 40 Billboard No. 1 singles as a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, Brian Culbertson has carved out his own path in music. If you label him jazz, he releases a funk record. If you call him an R&B artist, he drops an acoustic jazz trio collection. If you label him pop, he creates a 32-minute New Age opus. Brian is currently performing with his dynamic band to support the trilogy of themed albums he recently released: Red = Passion, Blue = Melancholy, and White = Hope.
