Caffe Lena at SPAC features The Steel Wheels, April 2nd

SARATOGA SPRINGS – On April 2nd, Caffe Lena and SPAC will be teaming up as part of their Caffe Lena @ SPAC to hold an evening of music with The Steel Wheels. A Virginia-based Americana band with a strong bluegrass underpinning, the Steel Wheels have captured the hearts of music lovers everywhere. The band will perform at The Spa Little Theatre for this event.

The Steel Wheels have long been at home in the creative space between tradition and innovation, informed by the familiar sounds of the Virginia mountains where the band was formed, but always moving forward with insightful lyrics and an evolving sound. Since 2005, this group has pushed the limits of what it means to be a string band and staked their claim as independent upstarts in the burgeoning Americana scene. Made up of Jay Lapp (vocals, guitars, mandolin), Eric Brubaker (vocals, fiddle), lead singer Trent Wagler (guitar, banjo), Kevin Garcia (drums, percussion, keys), and Jeremy Darrow (bass), the stubbornly independent band has formed deep bonds with each other and the audience that sustains them.

The Steel Wheels are masters of subtlety; they make no attempt to overwhelm or overindulge, but, rather, use their prowess and proficiency to leave an enduring impression.
