Elite Roots-Rockabilly-Garage Lineup set to Rock No Fun on April 22nd

It’s hard to categorize the roots-rockin’-rockabilly-garage-ameripolitan scene. It’s even more challenging to pin down the music of Les Greene, but it’s easy to say that he is quickly becoming the most talked about act in the aforementioned, hard-to-pin-down genre.

Readers of this article may have heard Les Greene sing already. Les was the voice of Little Richard in the recent “Elvis” biopic and sang a track on the Grammy-nominated soundtrack. Before that, Les Greene was a contestant on American Idol.

When most artists would leverage this resume into a lucrative career playing oldies and tribute shows on cruise ships and state fairs, Les Greene is walking the more complex, less traveled, more noble path of REAL rock and roll. Les Greene is the real deal.

Les Greene and the Rochester-based group, Televisionaries, celebrate the release of an EP with four explosive power-pop neo-soul tracks on the Freehold, NJ-based Nu-Tone label. The act will come to the Nippertown region on Saturday, April 22nd, at No Fun in Troy, NY. This will be a unique opportunity to see a true emerging talent, the kind of show you get to brag about attending years later.

Televisionaries are no strangers to the Capital District, as they frequently use the area as a touch point for an aggressive touring schedule over the past few years. Comprised of three brothers, Austin, Trevor, and Brendan Lake, with Aaron Mika on drums, the group has built a brand of pop-sensible 50s and 60s-influenced rock and roll that’s brought them to the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend and earned them opening slots for Nick Lowe and Southern Culture on the Skids.

The show at No Fun on Saturday, April 22nd, is presented by Hey Greasy and will also feature a live Go-Go dancer, DJ Avi Spivak from the Brooklyn record shop, Rebel Rouser, and the Everly Hillbillies, featuring Gringo Starr (Nick Lowe, Los Straitjackets), Ritz Carlton, Graham Tichy, and Donald Young.

No Fun is located at 275 River Street in Troy, NY. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Doors open at 7:00 PM.
