Citizen Cope Set to Appear at The Egg, May 16th

ALBANY – On May 16th, The Egg in Albany will host Citizen Cope for an intimate night of music. Having a career spanning decades that bolsters itself on compelling instrumentation, and vivid and concise storytelling, Cope proves time and time again to his audiences that he’s an act not to be missed. As part of The Egg’s Guest Music Presentation series, Cope’s stop at the venue is one of many on his Spring 2023 – Solo Acoustic tour.

Citizen Cope is the pseudonym of Clarence Greenwood. Greenwood, a native of Memphis, TN, has crafted a career built on his unabashed indie mindset and resilience. With a fanbase that has grown slowly but steadily over the years, Aside from the artist himself, Cope’s compositions have been covered by artists such as Santana, Dido, and Richie Havens. Cope’s music is a unique mixture of blues, soul, folk, rock, and hip-hop. With a rocksteady work ethic, the artist now prepares for yet another album, The Victory March, going on tour ahead of the release

In a world that can look so divided, it’s great to have people gather under one roof, who have different beliefs, opinions, and personal identities to connect and celebrate life through the power of music. I’ll be playing your favorite songs from all the records and debuting some new ones from my upcoming LP, The Victory March. This new record and my catalog of songs is something I’m super grateful to have the opportunity to share with you all.

– Citizen Cope
