Beth Brown Opens New Art Studio in Castleton-on-Hudson

Beth Brown, a painter and teaching artist, has opened a new art studio in Castleton-on-Hudson. Brown has been teaching year-round lessons in drawing and painting for over ten years, and her new studio offers a variety of classes for adults, teens, and preteens at beginner to advanced levels.

The studio is located in a beautifully restored 19th-century building on South Main Street, across the street from the Hudson River. Brown offers weekly lessons in drawing, painting, mixed media, and collage, and she can also teach online via Zoom. Her classes are suitable for all levels and styles, and students have the freedom to work on their own individual art projects.

Brown attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and she has experience as a sign maker, graphic designer, and muralist. She has also founded two former artist cooperative galleries. In her current paintings, Brown is experimenting with abstraction, utilizing mixed media and collage elements within her acrylic compositions. Birds have often been her muse as subject matter, and she is currently working on a new body of work featuring horses.
