Strand Theatre to Host Blistering Night of Rock, With Yngwie Malmsteen and Glenn Hughes, Aug. 18th

HUDSON FALLS – On Aug. 18th, The Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls is hosting two dynamite players of rock: Yngwie Malmsteen and Glenn Hughes. The former will be performing his greatest hits, while Hughes is set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Deep Purple’s Burn with a set of classic tunes.

Yngwie Malmsteen stands as one of the world’s foremost virtuoso guitarists. Over a span of twenty years, he has been a dominant force in the realm of solo guitar performance. Bursting onto the music scene at a young age, Yngwie amazed audiences with his astonishingly rapid and skillful harmonic minor scalar riffing. The release of his album “Yngwie J. Malmsteen’s Rising Force” in 1984 promptly established the genre now known as neo-classical melodic rock. Yngwie’s reputation as a legend extends to his distinctive style and unparalleled technique. A remarkable milestone in his extensive career was the unveiling of “Concerto Suite,” a fusion of classical orchestration and solo electric guitar, which underscored his genuine classical prowess. Esteemed by fellow musicians and fans alike, Yngwie’s musical journey persists, marked by a level of mastery that many dedicated musicians can only aspire to achieve.

Glenn Hughes, an English artist, gained prominence for his roles as a bassist and vocalist within the funk rock group Trapeze. He also contributed to the Mk. III and IV iterations of Deep Purple and had a brief stint as the lead for Black Sabbath during the mid-1980s. He is affectionately recognized as “The Voice of Rock” among his admirers due to his expressive and expansive vocal abilities.
