Songwriters Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore, With Special Guest, Dead Rock West, to Perform at The Egg, Aug. 24th

ALBANY—On Aug. 24th, The Egg will be hosting two songwriters: Dave Alvin, of the rocking rhythm and roots band The Blasters and Jimmie Dale Gilmore – of the Americana supergroup The Flatlanders. The two will be swapping songs, telling stories, and sharing their life experiences on stage with their band, The Guilty Ones. Dead Rock West opens the show. The event is part of the venue’s American Roots & Branches series.

Dave Alvin is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. A founding member of The Blasters, Alvin has performed as a solo artist since the 1980s.

Jimmie Dale Gilmore, an American country singer-songwriter, formed The Flatlanders along with Joe Ely and Butch Hancock in the early 1970s. Performing with the group off and on since, Gilmore has been nominated for three Grammys during his career and has worked with artists such as Willie Nelson,
