“Rock the Fall” at The Linda with E.R.I.E. and Sydney Worthley on 9/24

ALBANY – The Linda is ready to kick off the Fall concert season this weekend by hosting two local groups adept in pop-rock wizardry, E.R.I.E. and Sydney Worthley, on September 24th. Not only can you enjoy the performance from the seats inside the gorgeous theater, it will also be broadcast live on WAMC radio (90.3) that night.

Coming off the heels of their sophomore LP, Suburban Mayhem (released April 7th on Mint 400 Records), E.R.I.E. has had a busy year. The quartet took home “Favorite Alt/Indie Artist” at this year’s Listen Up! Awards performed their single ‘World is On Fire’ at this year’s Eddie’s Awards (where they were also nominated for Best Pop/Rock Artist), and toured regionally to support the record, which has already amassed nearly 50,000 streams on Spotify.

E.R.I.E. was founded by songwriter TJ Foster after a harrowing health incident in 2018. One year later, he had written a record detailing a lot of it before eventually assembling the band they are today. Joined by guitarist Matt Delgado, bassist Levi Jennes, and drummer Chad Flewwelling, the four full-time dads and part-time musicians write and perform songs that lie somewhere on the spectrum between Tom Petty and The Gaslight Anthem, with Foster’s lyrics acting as melodic commentary on a variety of societal woes. The band’s live performances have been heralded for their energy, passion, and chemistry, so attendees are certainly in for a treat.

After releasing her debut record at just 14 years old, Sydney Worthley has spent the last few years honing and experimenting with her sound. A phenomenal songwriter with astutely relatable lyrics, Sydney is a vocal powerhouse, leaving audiences breathless after every performance. While her 2020 EP, Rose Colored Glasses, leaned heavily on pop-rock sensibilities, her Fall 2022 single ‘How Soon Is Now?’ led her foray into dream-pop territory with its synth-laden backdrop and anthemic melodies. It became clear this shift was a welcome one when she took home Record of the Year for the song at this year’s Eddie’s Awards.

Backed by her band—bassist Julia Alsarraf, guitarist Leo Valenchis, and drummer Dan Livermore – fans can expect an impassioned set of Rose Colored Glasses favorites alongside her latest singles and yet-to-be-released tracks. Brimming with vulnerability, warmth, and devotion, Sydney is a star in the making; catch her in an intimate venue like The Linda while you still can.

In addition to performing together multiple times throughout the last couple of years, E.R.I.E. and Sydney recently collaborated on a song off the former’s LP, ‘World is on Fire’. You can stream that right here, and catch them performing it together live this weekend.

Catch E.R.I.E. and Sydney live at The Linda (WAMC Performing Arts Studio) on September 24th at 7:30 PM.
