Fiery Songwriter Cassandra Kubinski to Celebrate Album Release at Caffe Lena, Sept. 27th

SARATOGA SPRINGS – On Sept. 27th, pianist and singer-songwriter Cassandra Kubinski will celebrate the release of her latest album, The Saratoga Sessions EP, with a special performance at Caffe Lena. The fiery performer, using her soulful voice, interesting arrangements, and thought-provoking lyrics, is bound to deliver a fantastic night of music for those in attendance.

Saratoga Springs was graced with singer/songwriter Cassandra Kubinski when she relocated from NYC in 2020. Kubinski is no stranger to the area, however, having first performed at Caffè Lena’s open mic in 2014. Since then, she’s appeared multiple times at Lena’s, performed in and around Saratoga and at house concerts on the West Coast, opened for or shared stages with the Goo Goo Dolls, 10,000 Maniacs, Anna Nalick, Dickie Betts, Lana Del Rey, Matt Cusson, Charu Suri, and many more, all while garnering airplay on WEXT & WEQX, as well as enjoying write-ups in the Times Union, Saratoga Today, Nippertown, and more. She’s also received airplay on Sirius XM channels, including The Pulse, and fans may know her songs from Lifetime TV’s “Dance Moms,” which used 13 of her songs.

On September 27th, Kubinski celebrates the release of The Saratoga Sessions, an EP exclusively featuring upstate NY collaborators, from musicians to graphic, video, and makeup artists, and produced by Eddies Award winner James Mastrianni. “I wanted to showcase the incredible talent in the area and invest more in the creative community here,” she says. Sonically, the project is anchored in Kubinski’s signature piano-driven pop sound, with live band instrumentation. Thematically, the four songs explore transformation in various forms: learning from tragedy on “Hindsight is 20/20,” busting out of playing small on the funkified “Fierce,” accepting your mission to move the world on “The Sound,” and rising from the ashes of pain on “The Phoenix.”

A champion for women and indie artists in the music industry, Kubinski served eight years on the Women in Music Board, currently serves on the Caffè Lena Board, and was the first female bandleader of the Emmy-winning new media TV show “The Never Settle Show.” For fans of Sara Bareilles, Sia, Regina Spektor, Alanis Morissette, or Idina Menzel, Cassandra Kubinski is, according to Billy Joel, “very similar to the singer/songwriters of the late 70s; she proves that the genre can still be transcendent.”
