Attic Classic: The story begins in Schenectady at the Vibra Sound studio and label, which was started sometime in 1966. Local bands would make use of these small independent companies in a form of “pay to play” – meaning that the bands would pay for the use of the studio and staff to record and stamp out a 45 single, most times in hope of being discovered and signed to a larger record company.

One such band of teenagers out of Mechanicville was DELIRIUM, recording two songs – “I Need Your Lovin” b/w “Never Comin Home” – and releasing them in 1967 on the Vibra label. As you might expect, the record is rare and hard to come by. Fortunately, “Hey Greasy! presents…“, a music and entertainment alliance based in Troy, put together ‘Upstate Underground Vol. 1,’ a compilation tape & companion ‘zine featuring eleven rare psychedelic and garage rock songs and bands from the time period of 1964 to 1968. It includes Delirium with “Never Comin Home” and so that is the Attic Classic.
