1. THE FIRST ALBUM I EVER BOUGHT WAS …
Neha: OK, I’m going to date myself here – Ace of Base!
Bryan: The Sign! Wow, you did date yourself. I’ll match you with Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction.
Kyle: Funny, got this question at a show just last week. Told that guy Soundgarden’s Superunknown, but in the same trip I also got Nirvana’s Nevermind and Green Day’s Dookie.

2. THE FIRST CONCERT THAT I EVER SAW WAS …
Neha: Another semi-embarrassing reveal: N*SYNC.
Bryan: Yikes. My first concert was Pearl Jam at Randall’s Island in New York. They were fighting Ticketmaster at the time so the show was in what seemed like an old high school football arena. Still one of the best performances I’ve ever seen.
Kyle: Billy Joel at the Spectrum in ’97. I was 14. Went with a buddy, my mom and my aunt. It was fantastic.

3. THE FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENT I EVER OWNED OR PLAYED WAS …
Neha: A cherry wood baby grand piano
Bryan: A black Cruise electric guitar; left-handed, of course. Terrible action but decent tone. It still resides in the closet at my parent’s house, next to all my old baseball cards.
Kyle: Don’t even remember the make or model. It was grey, had a whammy bar and way too many tuning nobs. Upgraded at 15 to a Gibson Les Paul and never looked back.

4. THE FIRST SONG THAT I EVER PERFORMED IN PUBLIC WAS …
Neha: “Greensleeves,” in a song share in elementary school
Bryan: Not sure really. I think it was probably the first tune I ever wrote…”Driven On.” Either that or a Beatles cover.
Kyle: It had to be either “Paint It Black” by The Stones or “Alive” by Pearl Jam. Was at a party following the 9th grade formal. Show got shut down after about five songs due to complaints from the neighbors.

5. THE FIRST BAND I WAS EVER IN WAS …
Neha: I guess the first band I have been in (aside from the group that I have on my own) would be Everything Turned to Color!
Bryan: Well, it’s an honor then! My first band was named by our drummer’s mother. She screamed downstairs during one of our basement/laundry room rehearsals… “Jimson Weed”! Why we settled on such a terrible name I’ll never know.
Kyle: Honestly, we never came up with a proper name so we just used our last names in the vein of CSNY. Weber, Magee, Gannett, Smuts, so WMGS I suppose.

The Brooklyn-based jazz-infused indie-folk trio Everything Turned to Color make their Greater Nippertown debut at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs at 8pm on Saturday (November 10) in support of their debut album, “Life Imagined.” Tickets are on sale now priced at $18 in advance; $20 at the door.
