For those who didn’t know Roger’s Island in Fort Edward is arguably the birthplace of American special forces, as it is where the first rangers units were formed. These first rangers units were known as “Roger’s Rangers.” Today the U.S. Army Rangers are still issued Roger’s “Rules of Ranging.”

Why is Slickfin brewery a great fit for Fort Edward? Chris the owner, is a retired vet, who incorporates his military life into the brewery. With military-themed beverage names and memorabilia, Slickfin is like an ode to military history.
