Downtown Troy welcomes back Troy Pig Out, Sunday July 16th

TROY – Get ready to tantalize your taste buds! One of the most anticipated events in the Capital Region, Troy Pig Out, is making a comeback. The Downtown Troy Business Improvement District is thrilled to invite everyone to this city-wide competition, where numerous talented local businesses will showcase their barbecue skills. Embrace the summer spirit with a delightful blend of barbecue, camaraderie, and community on Sunday, July 16, starting at 12 pm. Restaurants and bars will fling their doors open, allowing everyone to indulge in a variety of barbecue styles and secret family sauces. As attendees savor the delectable offerings, they will have the chance to vote for their favorite BBQ, while a panel of three local judges will determine the Best BBQ in Troy. This exciting event is free to attend and welcomes all.

According to Olivia Clemente, the executive director of the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District, “This year, Pig Out has been taken to a whole new level. We have invited businesses from both Troy and the surrounding areas to compete against each other for the title of the best BBQ. As attendees stroll through the district, they can try $4 samples of BBQ food at each participating establishment. It’s a fantastic way to support the businesses of Troy, while also enticing people to explore our downtown area.”

Various businesses located in the Downtown district will be preparing their own barbecue and offering $4 samples for tasting. To expand the competition, local businesses and barbecues from the surrounding area have been invited to partner with Troy businesses and sell their samples on the streets. The fate of the contenders lies in the hands of the public, who will cast their votes to decide the ultimate champion.
